The Critics' Choice Award, determined by a a group of British music-industry professionals, is awarded to a British musician who the group believes will meet mainstream success in the upcoming year but who has yet to release a first album. This year's nominees were Tom Odell, Laura Mvula, and AlunaGeorge. Tom Odell won.
Previous winners of Critics' Choice are Emeli Sandé (2012), Jessie J (2011), Ellie Goulding (2010), Florence and the Machine (2009), and Adele (2008). Odell is the first male to win the award, and he had this to say: “I’m thrilled and honoured to win the BRITs Critics’ Choice Award. I genuinely can’t believe it. Thank you so much. Looking at the list of amazing female artists who have won the Award already, I just hope I don’t let the boys down!”
Now, dear Anglophiles, I present videos from each of the Critics' Choice nominees and will let you be the judge....
Which video do you like most? I must say....I definitely found Laura Mvula's the most moving....
